Monday's school teacher walkout over education funding is still on for many school districts.  The Oklahoma Senate is now looking over the bill that would give raises to teachers. But even if they approve the funding bill, it may not be enough. 

A new state Senate bill aims to reduce the number of inappropriate teacher-student relationships. This comes after a year of multiple high-profile cases of misconduct.

The Oklahoma House of Representatives passed a series of bills this week to help bridge the state’s $215 million budget shortfall, but did it without first talking with their colleagues in the Senate.

A controversial bill is pulled from consideration. It would've allowed schools to suspend children as young as eight years old. 

The state is facing a nearly $900-million budget shortfall, there isn’t enough money to pay school districts monthly support checks or give teachers promised raises, the Rainy Day fund is empty, and the state is borrowing millions of dollars just to pay the day-to-day bills. Still, about half of the legislature took the day off, Thursday.
